NHS (pandemic) changes ..

With present pandemic situation, what is the role for medicine ( https://t.co/cECYt08yRb ), when services cost the tax payer is not free, with respect to may concern! - 

In my (Republic) country Mexico (UK citizen), we depend heavy on pharmacy advice and if does not work, then we see a Doctor for further treatment.  

Unfortunately and currently in the UK certain medicines obtain by doctor prescription, not all comes into the same package and system, but need to book a GP. 

Last few weeks I pay for my own winter flu vaccination, "as I never got an invitation by a GP practice", with the hope this winter comes better than the last 6 here in Scotland. 

Almost at the same time, I got an "out of the blue" text message from my local GP asking me not to contact them for flu vaccine and they will contact me instead? -

So I rang back and told them that I got the winter flu vaccine with my local chemist, pay for it myself no need to worry, but wanted a prescription from a GP. 

A telephone call back to me, booked an appointment. 

Arrived to an almost empty "new" medical practice (while the local "busy" shopping centre need an upgrade!-).

A nurse saw me and my symptoms, this was a bit odd to me, as always see a GP in charge. 

When it was time to see my temperature by the nurse, I refused to use the thermometer as unaware if sterilizer! - 

They may say "yes" comply with the present medical requirements, but I say "no" by the hundreds of patients, that use the same machine!-  

I told the nurse NO several times and I was about to leave the room if continue one more step, towards me. 

There is not guarantee such instruments are 100% sterilizer, hundreds of patients use same instrument. 

I told the nurse clearly, that "we shall protect each other as pandemic is not clear enough!"- 

Unaware how the nurse took the matter, "that is not my problem except to look after myself", above all we are in pandemic time! -

I need to shake the nurse as almost my same age, mean "we need to protect each other" if we want to survive the present pandemic not matter age, with medical experience should know better, much better than me, to no avail. 

I got my prescription for my symptoms, I left (as fast as I could ..) the room and I gave her thanks for the services.

When about to leave the door, she gave me the looks and I remind the woman / nurse that: "we should protect each other", we are in pandemic time may give me an excuse to refuse such medical practice! -

"I hate to be touched, unless extremely necessarily, my body is my temple", who like to be placed things inside, outside and everywhere, furthermore during pandemic times!?-

This passing things, matters, items between each other is how germs travel, get into our healthy body, someone may need to explain the nurse (she was not very happy with me!), because gel and washing hands may is not enough, but have the courage to said; No! -

I need to place myself an example for my children, learn to say "yes", or "no", or "otherwise", never manipulate by strangers, particularly in pandemic times!-  

We should hold a database where explain anyone who is, or not vaccinate, the medical practice should not worry when hold our medical records, but people like us need reassurance, as when use any services from the community, mean you I need new glasses, hearing aid mould, dentures, etc! -
